Germany’s Saxon-Switzerland National Park tour is one of the most scenic and stunning tours. Our trip explores Germany’s Bohemian Switzerland surrounded by the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. We will follow the Elbe River on a river cruise; head to a World Heritage site similar to the Grand Canyon; navigate through castles, fortresses and far-reaching valleys; visit one of its most memorable sightseeing grounds the Konigstein Fortress; have a local traditional meal at our Bohemian tour and drink a complimentary beer at a local brewery.

Day 1:  City of Prague, Czech Republic | Neustadt, Germany

(Arrival in Prague)

  • Meeting & greeting at the Prague Airport by our local travel guide and transfer.
  • Prague City tour: Karlova Street; the official residence of the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, the Kramar’s Villa; crossing historic Charles Bridge; the old city square; the Prague Astronomical Clock; Paris Avenue; Mustek Square; Vaclavske Boulevard main shopping district of New Town Prague.
  • Dinner and overnight stay at our hotel in Neustadt, Germany.

Day 2: The Valley of 1000 Hills

 

(Neustadt, Germany)

  • Complimentary breakfast at the hotel.
  • Drive to Kirnizschtal, part of it in the Saxon-Switzerland National Park, we will take the river boat at Bad Schandau.
  • River boat cruise ending in the town of Prina, the town of Sandstone blocks that shipps to the world but also dressed up the city with its sandstone sculptures and handcrafts. We will walk its streets and take a brief break.
  • Next stop the highlight of our tour is the most famous rock formation in Saxon Switzerland, Germany, the Bastei and the Bastei Bridge.
  • To view this breathtaking landscape of sandstone rock formations and the bridge within the Elbe Mountains from a different angle, we will continue to Rathmannsdorf town.
  • Dinner and overnight stay in Neustadt.

Day 3: Bohemian Switzerland

  • Complimentary breakfast at the hotel
  • Drive to The Czech Rock (Ceska Skala). It is one of the larger vulcanic basalt formation rocks in the world. A similar basalt rock formation is in the World Heritage site of the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Idaho, USA.
  • We will continue to Lindava. It is home to the world famous and multi Award Winning Bohemian Crystal wares. We will visit its artisan glassworks and Glassmakers factory.
  • Our last stop for the day will be The Town of Schonlinde, considered to be the heart of Saxony Switzerland. We will visit a local brewery.
  • Dinner and overnight stay in Neustadt.

Day 4: Castles, Fortresses and Valleys

 

(Neustadt, Germany)

  • Complimentary breakfast at the hotel
  • This tour will be unique for it has the highest sloped hillside castles and fortresses in Europe that we are going to visit.We are crowning the Konigstein fortress as the most magnificent within this group. It is located on a 9 hectare wide land with 30 buildings on a 790 feet (240 meters) high plane. You will be given free time, so you can roam and also observe from a viewing platform its valley underneath.
  • After this climactic experience to our grand tour, we will drive through the remaining beautiful valleys back to our hotel in Neustadt.
  • Dinner and overnight stay in Neustadt.

Day 5: Neustadt | Dresden Tour | Prague Airport

 

(DEPARTURE DAY)

  • Complimentary breakfast at the hotel
  • Check out from the hotel
  • Drive to Dresden, a city that is called the Florence of the Elbe. It was once one of the most beautiful cities until the bombers turned it into a pile of rubble. However, today we will visit the Dresden Frauenkirche, a Lutheran church; the Semperoper the city opera house with its Renaissance architecture, Corinthian order, Baroque Revival architecture, and the Dresden Royal Palace, one of the oldest buildings in Dresden, Germany.
  • After free time, our visitors will be dropped off at the Prague Airport for their return flights.
